c Gabriela Soltz

     

Studied the flauto dolce (recorder) with David Bellugi at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Fiesole Music School). She has participated in seminars on ancient music at the Universal Music Ensemble of Paris and at the Corso di Interpretazione di Musica da Camera Barocca (Interpretation of Baroque Chamber Music Course) in Fiesole by D. Bellugi. She has distinguished herself as flautist and interpreter in many national and international chamber music contests, such as the Concorso di Musica da Camera di Genova  (Genoa Chamber Music Contest) and the Concorso Internazionale Città di Stresa (Stresa International Contest).
She has collaborated with the Orchestra Regionale Toscana (the Tuscan Regional Orchestra) and with many ensembles of ancient music.  Her interest lies with Medieval music, which also awakened her interest in vocals.  She has been performing as a singer and instrumentalist for many years now.

She was drawn to folk music because of its affinity to Medieval music, awakening her old passion for Yiddish and klezmer music.  This passion began as a child in Buenos Aires, where she breathed and absorbed this type of music in her grandparent’s home.
She is presently studying voice with Patrizia Vaccai.
She is actively involved in teaching, especially  preparatory courses in flauto dolce (recorder). For the last five years she has collaborated with the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (Fiesole Music School), both as a teaching assistant for the primary recorder course, as well as an instructor for preparatory instrument courses and summer workshops.


   
e Ugo Galasso

   

Holds a diploma in clarinet, and in 1980 further specialized in clarinet with M. Garbarino at the Accademia Chigiana (Chigiana Academy). Simultaneously, he began studying the flauto dolce (recorder) in Italy and France with D. Bellugi and B. Hayward.  He has distinquished himself as flautist and interpretor in many national and international competitions, winning the first prize Città di Stresa (City of Stresa) and  Città di Genova (City of Genoa).  He completed his diploma in flauto dolce (recorder) with highest honours.
He is particularly interested in instrumental music from the 14th and 16th centuries, although his concert activity ranges from Medieval to Baroque music.  He has experience in contemporary music as well.
He has played Baroque and contemporary music as a soloist with the RAI Orchestra, Rome, the Tuscany Regional Orchestra, the Regional Chamber Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, and the Emilia Romagna Regional Orchestra.
He collaborates with many ensembles of ancient music, from Modo Antiquo to L’Homme Armèe, from Cappella Ducale of Venice to Theatrum Instrumentorum, in addition to being a permanent member of the Tuscae Gentes ensemble, with which he also satisfies his love for traditional and folk music.  He has participated in the recording of more than 20 CDs, in groups which range from Chamber music to Baroque orchestras, and repertoires which go from Medieval to contemporary.
In addition to his activities as a performer, he is a clarinet instructor at the middle school of music in Pontassieve.

   
a Alessandro Moretti

   

Studied concert accordion under the guidance of Patrizia Angeloni; he brilliantly completed the Conservatory of Florence with Ivano Battiston: he has attended workshops by Salvatore Di Gesualdo, interpretation courses held by Hugo Noth, the Cantiere Internazionale d’Art di Montepulciano (the International Art Workshop at Montepulciano) coursed on Astor Piazzola’s music held by Hugo Aisemberg, Roberto Cima, Juan Lucas Aisemberg.
He is presently a member of the following groups:
- Moretti-Signorini, the classical accordion duo which won the Macerata Feltria (PS) National Chamber Music Competition.
Moretti-Signorini has held numerous concerts: Leghorn (Nuovo Teatre delle Commedie), Montepulciano (Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte), Pisa (Giornata Mondiale della Musica), Florence (Archeological Museum, Palazzo Vecchio, Villa Pandolfini, the Uffizi Library, etc.), Pesaro (Musicalia ’98), etc.;
- The “Confinensemble” Quartet (Anna Aurigi: soprano; Gloria Lucchesi: flute(s); Carlo Mascilli Migliorini: guitar), which has held numerous concerts and has been involved in special performances such as “Tangos eslio del alma” with Alessandra Bedino;
Various chamber music groups (duos, trios, etc.).
- He was part of the “Ensemble degli Illuminati” (Ensemble of the Illuminated) in the show “Non svegliate l’amore” (Don’t Awaken Love - Songs from the Song of Songs) with David Riondino; he took part in the show “Cecco da Varlungo” and “Compilation°2” with Carlo Monni; he was part of the “Accordion Quartet of the Conservatory of Florence” directed by Ivano Battiston.
- He recorded two Cds with pop and rock groups such as Ottavo Padiglione, with which he went on a national tour (Palatrussardi, TMC, Roxy Bar, Rai Tre, etc.).

   
b Daniele Poli

   

Born in Prato in 1965, Daniele Poli studied classical guitar with A. Borghese, L. Brouwer and S. Mazzoni, completing his diploma in 1991 under the guidance of S. Mazzoni at the Conservatory L. Cherubini in Florence.
He has performed as a guitarist in various chamber groups and as a soloist both in Italy and abroad.  He recorded a CD with the Guitar Symphonietta.  He has frequently appeared on local and national television (RAI), as well as with directors Massimo Luconi and Giuseppe Galeotti.

In recent years, his attention has turned to Medieval and Renaissance music played on original instruments, such as the lute, Renaissance and Baroque guitar, harp, psaltery, and hurdy-gurdy.  In many cases, he builds the instruments himself, combining concert activity with the study and research of instruments and how they were played during the their respective time periods.

   
d Luca Brunelli Felicetti

   

Began studying percussion instruments when he was very young. A holds a diploma in drums from CPM in Milan with Christian Meyer and he is a member of various musical groups ranging from jazz, latino to ethnic.  He is a drummer for the Teatro del Te company in Pisa for the show Mustarib and for the dance-theatre company Danzante for the show Vendute! (about the life of Zana Muhsen).
In 1984 he was among the founders of the ensemble Modo Antiquo, with which he has a very active concert schedule.

He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1997 for the category “Best Small Ensemble Performance” and has participated in radio shows (Radio 3, WDR) and television shows (historical music for the serial in 1990 called “Michelangelo” on RAI 1).
He is a qualified instructor of jazz drums and ethnic percussion instruments at the Music School “G. Bonamici” in Pisa since its founding.
